Dopeness In The House: Galtier (Melbourne)

melbourne banner

Melbourne calling!

But, if you’re familiar to Melbourne Bounce, then this probably isn’t what you were expecting. Galtier’s Shudder EP is a dark and brooding collection of tracks which seem to be influenced more by UK Bass, Broken Beat and The Breaks, rather than the more “Handbag” style that you might usually expect to hear from a Melbournite. The four tracker is out now to buy, but Galtier has kindly bunged in a free downloadable track as well. Lovely…

It’s All About Brazil: Baile Funk Megaload

bum bum

Yes Popozudites, our stock and trade!

You know what’s coming on Thursday! If you don’t, then you must be a member of that tribe that Beckham visited in the Amazon. Which would be surprising, as I’d wonder how you got on the internet, or even why you had a computer! Brazil and Rio will be center stage for the next month and we love it. Back in the good ol’ days of Global Ghetto, one of my most popular posts were the Baile Funk Megaload posts. Those pages still get lots of views to this day and that’s going back four years or so! So here is the Club Popozuda inaugural BFM.  Beleza…

Exclusive! Dogz n’ Bumps ft. MC Zulu – Carnival Madness (Munchi Remix 1)

carn banner

I said oi, oi, oi you!

Four years or so ago (maybe longer) myself and my good buddy Andy Amfo aka Suicide Dogz sent a track off to MC Zulu on the off chance that he might wanna collaborate on it with us. To our joy he did and Carnival Madness was born, as well as a great friendship. Then when it was done it was going to be released on Oi You! Recordings. So I asked some producers from the Global Bass world if they would do some remixes. One of those was a young Dutch guy who we thought was shit-hot and that was Munchi. He sent us two absolutely killa remixes and so vibed up was Andy that he even made it it’s own video! But as happens with lots of music biz things, the release got delayed, then shelved. But that video was still out there and peeps be askin’ me, when’s that Munchi mix gonna come out? But, ask no more! Coz’ I think it’s high time you had this ‘lil gem of a track. So enjoy this download on Club Popozuda. Also, check out the vid and if you’re real good, I might even let you have the other mix too!

Midget Ninjas Are Gonna Annex Your Sound System!

midge ban

Quick call NATO!

As the Iron Curtain once again descends across Europe, we are thankful that for the moment the internet has no such barriers. Which is why today we are able to bring you Muscovite Chuck Upbeat’s Midget Ninjas project “Ideological Dance Music”, a continuation of Chuck’s interpretation of the idea of Sovietism and the sound and look that came from that era, presented in the form of nasty-assed Global Bass.

Let’s get Glasnost…
