Club Popozuda Mixtape #35 – El $abor (Venezuela)

cp 35 El Sabor banner

Chévere!

Today’s mixtape takes us to one of the less highlighted countries in the Global Bass world, Venezuela and the vibes of Barquisimeto’s El $abor. As always, we ask the mixtapers to give us a rundown about themselves and what’s going on in their part of the world and here is El $abor’s bumpf:

EL SABOR F JOSÉ MIGUEL AGUILAR-12

EL $ABOR is an electronic tropical dance duo that fuses elements and sounds of Latin music with EDM and world electronic music such as trap, electro, and moombahton. The duo is composed by BAR MIKHAEL (KRVDXBVNK) and L’MIRANDA, 2 young producers from the city of Barquisimeto, Venezuelan city known for its extensive musical culture.

As an independent artist, Boonk31 aka BAR MIKHAEL, begins his career in music production at the young age of 15. His musical interest were genres that focused mainly on big BASS such as experimental hip-hop drumstep, and dubstep. He became a member of “la hermandad de la jungla”, and the Venezuela record label “Música Culpable”. Boonk31 begins a residency at a bass party in the city of Puerto Ordaz together with two of the leading Bass djs in the country; Katih & PusherFM. As a producer he has worked with artists such as Zardonic, Tan Frío el Verano, Foniqz & Dj Danko, and has shared the stage with artists such as Silkie, Mensah, Raiden and Lank.

Luis Fernando Miranda aka L’MIRANDA, started his music career thru percussion, in his “La Salle” high school band years. In his spare time, the young entrepreneur would give private percussion lessons to students from school. Interested in tropical caribbean music and its heavy percussion oriented sounds, he begins to dj and produce tropical electronic music.

In December 2012, these two friends decide to get together to collab in a new music project were they would fuse the musical tastes and influences of them both to give birth to El $abor, sharing the stage with artists such as 2irie, and Major Lazer. Together they have created a new genre or better said musical concept they like to call #sabrosura, a mix of mestizo Caribbean sounds with a diverse array of bass music and a lot of Latin swag!. In May 2013 they release their first EP as a duo called BA$$ $ABORIZADO under ELFM records, receiving a lot of support from artists such as K12, Blanquito Man, Zoundcolector, M-Peach, Walshy Fire, CJ Milli, Tropikore, DJ Badre, DJ Chakruna, Akilin, Lank, Akapellah, Caseroloops.

Baile Funk Monster Megaload: 60 Bangers!

BFFM

Don’t be scared!

It might be massive, but you can handle it. Yes Funkeiros, this edition of megaload was just so big that I had to create a playlist instead of embedding the tracks one by one. There’s just too much to go into detail, but all the usual suspects are in there, DJ R7, Bam Bam, DJ RD DA NH, Alex MPC, plus a whole bunch of other cats. Trust me, it’s worth checking out this list, coz there’s some corkers in there and you can download most of them free! The selection comprises of not just Baile Funk itself, but also Favela Bass, Favela Trap and Rasterinha. Beleza…

Dopeness In The House: MC Zulu

zulu ban

Welcome back Globalistas.

Due to an early arrival in the baby department, posts have been scarce this past couple of weeks, but I’m back and things should even out from now. DITH today brings you a great friend and collaborator of mine, MC Zulu, the Daddy of Global Bass. This outing sees Zulu rocking a tight Moombahton joint and showing us his Panamanian roots by spitting in Spanish as well as good old English. There’s an acapella too, so you can make your own version. But this jam is fyah! So you’ll be hard pressed to better it. Enjoy, palabra!

Exclusives Month! Chuck Upbeat – Double A

exclu week 2

Ahoy Globalistas!

Exclusives Months cranks back into action with a Double A side from CP’s Russian agent, Chuck Upbeat. Chuck serves up two slices of frenetic Baile Funk slash Soviet Bass and all for nish. I think it might be time for a Baile Funk megaload, maybe tomorrow. And before the end of this week, the lost Munchi mix of Carnival Madness will appear, plus a brand new mixtape from Fuzzy Fotch…

Dopeness In The House: Crookers

crookers

Ciao Bella!

Let’s head to Milano today for the post-duo singlet that is Crookers. For years now, we have all expected that when a Crookers tune drops, it’s gonna be well made, lively and definitely club ready. Consistent is a word I would associate with Crookers releases. So now it’s different and Phra is in charge, is the music still as good? Yep! That’s the short answer. And if you doubt me, check for yourself with this Hip Hop, Trappish slice of phatness. That shit is free too!!!

And if you haven’t checked it yet, here is the vid for “Able To Maximize”

Exclusives Week Becomes Month: DJ Comrade Remixes Chuck Upbeat.

exclu week 2

Ambition overruled by practicality.

Yes Globalistas, Exclusives Week has become Exclusives Month. Releasing too many bullets too quick was gonna leave some hot tunes perhaps being missed, as pointed out by Club Popozuda’s Tatsu Jones. So we’re gonna stretch out our selection of exclusive nuggets over the month. On to the music. I know a lot of cats that have been waiting for this one! And thanks to NY’s DJ Comrade of Xão Productions and Muscovite Chuck Upbeat, we can bring you this Baile Funk banger, exclusively! Beleza…

Exclusives Week! Via The Robots – Mr Snake

exclu week

Exclusives week continues:

So, there should have been a post yesterday, but life got in the way and after the debacle that was Brazil v Germany, we all need a bit of cheering up (unless you’re German of course). I will be making up for the missing day with two posts in a day before the end of the week. Today’s offering comes from our good buds Sergey and Dimi aka Via The Robots. VTR hail from Tula, Russia and if your partying in their town then you’re probably at one of their venues! Here is their tune Mr Snake, which is their own nutty take on Global Bass. Plus there is a UK Bass mix from their fellow Russian, Hot Sound.

Stand by for more exclusive goodness all this week, including a tune that lots of you have been waiting for…
