Due to an early arrival in the baby department, posts have been scarce this past couple of weeks, but I’m back and things should even out from now. Latin meets Post-Punk!

I’m loving this completely free EP! For the most part, as is the case with most non-English language songs, I have little to no idea what’s being said, but I like the way it’s being said! What I do know is that Mamba are from Argentina and this is what their label, Le Ronca had to say (in Spanish, translated by Google, so who knows?):

Argentina has always been the spearhead when dialing artistic trends in Latin America and now, in the same way, with high creative ability and overwhelming talent, gives birth to Mamba, new sound system project global and tropical bass, produced by our genius friend Reptilian Commander and versatile voices in Pa Pe.

For us in Le Ronca Records is honored to be part of this new generation of Latin American sound system of electronic music and we are also pleased greatly, seeing that women who are now become the frontman of the resurgence of this format.

Battle of the beats from Brazil!

Ok, if you follow us and Baile Funk, you probably would have downloaded a few tunes from these guys. On one side we have Deejay R7, who I can’t tell you too much about, except he’s Brazilian and mega-prolific. The guy’s got 8 soundcloud accounts full of tunes! The output seems to be non-stop. Then on the other side we have DJ RD Da Nova (DJ RD DA NH), a really hard string of letters to remember. We know a little more about him, he’s lives in Rio, but originally was from Bahia and he claims to be the inventor of Rasterinha! I can neither confirm or deny this. But I wouldn’t be surprised if he did because like R7, he has a crazy high output and most of it is quality. So, here are two tunes from each of them that they’ve posted in the past 24 hours. Like most of their stuff, you can download it free. Who wins? You decide…

You may not know the name of Dorly Neto, but along with the Asshake boys, Pesadâo Tropical, and a few others, we see the seeds of the next wave of Brazilian producers, who have really embraced the idea of Global Bass and are influenced by the wealth of beats they hear from around the globe. Dorly is also under the tutelage of Baile Funk O.G’s, Sany Pitbull and Grandmaster Raphael as part of the Red Bull Favela Beats project. Four years or so ago (maybe longer) myself and my good buddy Andy Amfo aka Suicide Dogz sent a track off to MC Zulu on the off chance that he might wanna collaborate on it with us. To our joy he did and Carnival Madness was born, as well as a great friendship. Then when it was done it was going to be released on Oi You! Recordings. So I asked some producers from the Global Bass world if they would do some remixes. One of those was a young Dutch guy who we thought was shit-hot and that was Munchi. He sent us two absolutely killa remixes and so vibed up was Andy that he even made it it’s own video! But as happens with lots of music biz things, the release got delayed, then shelved. But that video was still out there and peeps be askin’ me, when’s that Munchi mix gonna come out? But, ask no more! Coz’ I think it’s high time you had this ‘lil gem of a track. So enjoy this download on Club Popozuda. Also, check out the vid and if you’re real good, I might even let you have the other mix too!
